How long is the Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating ( or CPL / IR) course?

A.  

The actual duration of the course depends on many factors including the ability of the individual students. The course is designed for the average student to complete the program in 60 weeks, some may complete the program earlier while others take a bit longer.

 

Q.  

How many hours does it take to achieve the CPL / IR License?

A.  

The course syllabus requires 224.8 hours of actual flying time with 31.8 hours in a Flight Training Device (simulator).

 

 

Q.  

Are students required to stay in the Accommodation as show in the website?

A.  

The Student Accommodations are optional for students, except where they are on particular airline cadet program where student accommodation is required by their respective airlines. As the student accommodation as shown in the website are of high quality and located in a safe and convenient area near to public amenities and shopping, it is recommended that student choose the option to stay there.

 

 

Q.  

Can I be given advance standing if I already have a Private Pilot License? What if this license is a foreign issued one?

A.  

As both a Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Approved Training Organization and a ASQA accredited Registered Training Organization, we are required to recognise and consider any prior learning through a process known as Recognition of Prior Learning or RPL. The student’s program will be tailored to suit his or her training needs.

 

 

Q.  

What happens if I fail any particular flying lesson?

A.  

Our program is Competency Based, so if you have not reached the level of Competency required to progress further, you will be recommended by your Flight Instructor for remedial training. In the unlikely event that you are unable to reach the required level of competency after 2 remedial flights, the Head of Training will initiate and take charge of a Review Process to assess the best option for you.

How far away is Archerfield Aerodrome from Brisbane City Centre?

A.  

It is only 14 km away from Brisbane City or around fifteen to twenty minutes by car depending on traffic.

 

 

Q.  

When do need to pass my Medical Check?

A.  

By regulations you do not need to have your medical (Class 2 as a minimum) until your first solo flight, however, our policy is that you hold a valid class 1 medical from the very start of your program. Unless you do not want to fly as Professional Pilot, it would be advisable to take a Class 1 Medical before the start of the course to be sure that you would meet the medical and health requirements to be professional pilot.

Can I do the medical in my home country?

A.  

CASA has a list of approve Doctors or Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME) available for Classes 1 and 2 medicals both in Australia and across the globe. You may contact us if you need our assistance to locate a DAME near to your location.

 

 

Q.  

How do we apply for the relevant student visa?

A.  

Student visa applications are managed by our associate Auslink Investment Co who are specialist in visa applications and they will advice International students on visa matters and assist in the application process.
